Margate Manager Chris Kinnear has added 29 year old former Eastbourne Borough and Tonbridge Angels striker Carl Rook to his striking options for the new Ryman League Premier Division season.
Rook enjoyed one of the best spells of his career under Tommy Warrilow at Tonbridge Angels after a move from Warrilow’s former club Horsham, reportedly for a significant fee.
During his three year stint at the Longmead Stadium, he scored 65 goals before going on to play for Dartford, Tonbridge again (on loan), Eastbourne Borough and AFC Hornchurch at the end of last season.
Earlier in his career, Rook also played for Dover Athletic, Hastings United, Whitstable Town, Folkestone Invicta, Sittingbourne and Deal Town.
He explained his reason’s for signing for the Blues: “Even before I spoke to the Gaffer, (I knew) that Margate’s always been one of the bigger clubs in non-league.
“The club seems to be heading in the right direction.”
